Assign Categories
All right. In step three, we're going to
assign categories to all of our
products. And you want every product to
have a category assigned. Now, we've got
two different ways to do that. One is
you can manually assign your categories.
And that opens up your product catalog
in the bulk editor with the product
category option there. And you can just
see what's already there or overwrite
it, change the setting to whatever you
want it to be. And this is good for
small stores or small product catalog
stores or if you've already have a lot
of your product categories assigned. You
can go and do this manually. But if you
have a large product catalog, this is
going to take a lot of time because the
bulk editor is kind of slow and bulky.
You see as I scroll down, it's opening
up more entries down at the bottom and
you know it takes a while and if you
save, you know, you have to make sure
you save often in case it crashes and
those kind of things. So the other tool
that we have is we have AI do bulk
category assignment for you. Now it's
already been done in this store, but you
can have the catalog run through. We've
done cataloges as large as 100,000
products through this process. And you
can imagine going to the bulk editor and
trying to manually assign product
categories for 100,000 products and how
much time that would take. Even for
a,000 products or 200 products, it takes
a long time to do it. So we have the AI
tools that look at all the product that
you have. So it looks at the title, the
description, photos, and the other
properties about the products and uses
that to determine which of the 10,000
nodes in the Shopify product texonomy to
use. And we have a detailed tutorial on
how that whole process works. So in this
step, go through and make sure that you
assign categories to all of your
products. And you'll know that step is
done in the AI discoverability score
because the first metric we have shows
you what number of products in this
store 282 of the 284 have categories
assigned.
